BLOCK LEADERS – Block leaders is a new role we are adding in 2025. We are asking for 1 – 2 people per street to help with notifying the communications chair when a neighbor moves in or out of the neighborhood and help their neighbors on their street when distributing information when needed.
COMMUNICATIONS – This chair is responsible for notifying current neighbors of events, meeting or notices that come about during the year. They are also in charge of updating the neighborhood directory and the neighborhood email list. They are usually in contact with all the Board members and all the Committee chairs and update the HN Website. They also distribute mailbox stain and numbers to neighbors when they request them.
EGG HUNT – This committee usually entails 2 or 3 people to work together to purchase toys/games/candy, etc. to be filled into age appropriate plastic eggs. Then the plastic eggs are filled and on a date before Easter Sunday, (weather permitting), they will put out signs with designated age appropriate spots for the Egg Hunt to commence. (ages are usually …. ) Also needs to coordinate with communications chair so they can promote when Egg Hunt will be.
FAMILY PICNIC – There is 1 chair person and several co-chairs are there are several moving pieces for this event usually held in the Fall. This position orders the block party trailers from the City of Dublin, food, jumpy houses, contacts various vendors, organizes games, new ideas, creates a sign up genius and and obtains several 5 gal water jugs from various neighbors and fill with water, lemonade or iced tea + more. On the day of the event, this committee is responsible for deciding when things go and delegating to additional volunteers and will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event and send out sign up genius to neighbors.
FOOD TRUCKS – Decides which food trucks to have when in the neighborhood and to coordinate with the food trucks and will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event.
GARAGE SALE – This chair decides when the garage sale weekend will be and to contact the City of Dublin and file permits for neighbors participating. They are also responsible for collecting $ from the participating families, advertising in Facebook, Craigs list, etc. and putting up signs up the night before the garage sale and to take them down the same day after the sale ends and will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL – Usually the last day of school for the Dublin City School system (May). This can be a job for 1 or 2 people as they acquire ice cream treats (including non dairy/GF) for the evening and distribute to all neighbors that stop by. Will need to transport several coolers of ice (or dry ice) to the park and will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event.
LANDSCAPE – In charge of making sure the contracted landscape company that has been hired by the HOA is doing their job as well as making suggestions to plantings in 3 of our entrances as well as the circles in several of our cul de sacs..Also makes recommendations on lighting, watering of the entrances and contacting a vendor to put on holiday lights at all entrances. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all sidewalks and paths are clear and free from trees and shrubs impeding onto them and let the board know if appropriate steps need to be taken with homeowner.
ILLUMINARIES – New event this year. This chair will require several others to help. They will need to order supplies in the middle of the year and house them at their home until ready to use. (supplies – paper bags, sand, candles, lighting sticks). They should organize a “filling” party to have several people fill paper bags of sand, and then will need to make sure each block leader helps with distributing 4 / 5 bags per each neighbor to light on the designated night (Christmas Eve/Diwali?) Will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event.
MAILBOXES – 1 person needed to make sure the mailboxes are in good working order and have numbers and flags on them. If a neighbor needs a new mailbox, the communication chair is usually notified and lets the mailbox chair know of the situation. The chair needs to contact Cedar Craft to let them know the address and what needs to be done and then lets the neighbor know when the mailbox will be replaced and then delivers and installs a flag after installed. They also distribute mailbox stain and numbers to neighbors when they request them.
MOVIE NIGHT – 1 or 2 people needed. Chose a night for a movie (usually a Saturday night in late summer) and decide what to show. Request the movie from the Library on DVD format. On movie night will need to set up equipment at least 1 hour before showtime, and run electric cords from designated neighbors porch. Equipment is: Big blow up screen, audio devices, projector, DVD player or laptop, table and more and will need to coordinate with communications chair to promote event.
PIZZA IN THE PARK – Always done on Beggar’s night from 4:45p – 6:00p. 1 or 2 people are good for this. Will need to contact a vender and order pizza and pick it up and deliver it to Hawk’s Nest park and obtain 5 gal water jugs from various neighbors and fill with water, lemonade or iced tea. Will need to coordinate with communications chair to broadcast the event.
