General Meeting
Hawk’s Nest Homeowners Association
July 30, 2007
7:30 pm Dublin Justice Center

Board Members Present: Cara Tomallo, Ali Randall, Jeannie Vacarri, Lori Overs, Emily Preble

President Update

Vandalism- The Dublin Police have notified us of problems w/ theft through open garage doors. Call police if you notice anything unusual.

Board members need to start thinking about finding a replacement for your position if you are leaving the Board next year.

Vice-President Update

All committees need to send Michelle Coss updates for the newsletter, which will be distributed within the next month or so. It will likely be the last newsletter of the year.
A new neighborhood directory will be distributed in the fall.

Treasurer’s Report

14 families have not paid their dues. The “final notice” letters were sent out 2 weeks ago to those who haven’t paid, informing the homeowners that a lien will be filed by the end of August if the dues have not been paid.

Currently the HNHA checking account balance is $20,200. Approximately $6,000 went toward landscaping since the last meeting.

Emily will send Mary Zangerle the 2006 Budget so she can post it on the website.

A discussion was held regarding imposing a late fee for delinquent association fees, along with possible incentives for those who pay early. This discussion will continue and will need more information regarding how this could be done (i.e. a lawyer may be consulted regarding the legality of imposing a late fee, etc.)

Landscape Committee Report

Need to notify homeowners who aren’t in compliance with yard/landscape restrictions per the Deed Restrictions. It was recommended that Joe Vacarri drive the neighborhood and send the attached letter (see attached).

Board would need to agree and vote on the neighbors who are not in compliance and then the letter with the Deed Restrictions would be sent. It was recommended the letter list specific steps the homeowner needs to address.

Service Berry at Jacana entrance is dead. It will cost approximately $150 to replace and it is preferred to replace it in the September (Fall) timeframe.

A flyer will be sent out, within the next month, for lawn aeration at a discounted price.

Social Committee Report

Issues/Complaints regarding the Garage Sale- need better way to communicate the date and deadline to neighborhood.

Golf Outing- Jim Schindler may be in charge next year and hold it in June.

Happy Hour- August 10th 5:30 to 7:30 @ Trish Roush’s house
September 14th or 21st @ Bagozzi and Vaccarri court
October- TBD @ Canady’s

The possibility of an OSU tailgate was discussed. No plans yet.

Neighborhood Crawl to replace the Pub Crawl- August 25th

Labor Day Party- Sunday September 9th. HNHA would provide main course, rest potluck. Corn hole tournament, games for the kids, etc.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm
